ESL students in India lacked access to essential soft skills training, particularly those related to job searching and interviewing, which are often crucial for economic advancement.
As a UN Volunteer with the Child Awareness Project (CAP), I developed and delivered a 30-lesson ESL curriculum focused on hiring and interviewing skills. The curriculum employed a scaffolded approach, with each lesson related to and culminate in a final group presentation.
I successfully created and delivered a valuable skills-based curriculum that empowered ESL students in India. I designed the curriculum to be adaptable to various learning environments, including those with limited access to technology. Furthermore, I contributed to the long-term success of the program by facilitating a connection between the UN Volunteer program and corporate volunteer initiatives in the region years after the program's completion.
